The mop sculpture is inspired by handmade floor mops, traditionally made by tying old rags to a stick. I have reused fabric from designer clothes as rags, and covered the mop stick with this to match the Moka Express from Bialetti x Dolce & Gabbana. The mop is turned upside down, rendered useless as a cleaning tool, with the rags arranged in a composed design. The work is accompanied by a pair of high heels covered in paint, similarly stripped of their functionality.

Kaffeepause explores power structures and hierarchies in relation to the house and care work as well as the ability to take a break before housework is done.
