Laundered Objects chronicles a six-year process of collecting more than 900 objects retrieved from the pockets of the artist’s family members: paper tissues, candy wrappers, coins, and other incidental remnants. Some items remain intact in their original state, while others bear visible marks of transformation after passing through the washing machine. Each item is catalogued and numbered in transparent archival pockets, then presented within six suspended sculptural frameworks composed of fiberglass rods and textile bands – structures inspired by washing lines and domestic window treatments. Functioning as both visual archive and poetic testimony, the installation reveals the overlooked traces of everyday life and foregrounds the often invisible labor that sustains the household. By monumentalizing these small, accidental artifacts, Laundered Objects invites viewers to consider the quiet rhythms, repetitive gestures, and unseen work that underlie the maintenance of daily living, house and care work.
